In this world of religious intolerance and war, the services of Acharya Master Hsing Yun to the world have truly re-established humanity. His generosity and morality have always been an inspiration to people in this society. Acharya Master Hsing Yun has spread the essence of his noble activities everywhere. Like the Buddha, He has shown path to all irrespective of their caste and creed as a universal monk.
Acharya Master Hsing Yun never accepted narrow materialism. He went with the ideals of fraternity and humanitarianism. These ideals went beyond mere provincial boundaries because he realized miseries, anxieties and conflicts that human beings were going through. He followed the path shown by the Buddha to liberate human beings from their sufferings. He believed that true liberty lies in the welfare and happiness of many. It is for this noble purpose that He founded BLIA which has spread its protective wings in different countries. To a large extent, the organization is truly internationalist.
(A person can give up his sense of narrowness only when the infinite radiance of the sun is revealed within him. And this brilliance by no means lends itself to narrowness, for life needs willpower.)
The Great Acharya Master Hsing Yun is literally a Buddhist monk with will power. His benevolence and magnanimity embrace the identity of a resurgent Buddhist in the true sense of the term.
However, I feel blessed to have been invited and to have attended BLIA’s conference.
(I have been satisfied with my meeting and intimacy with Acharya Master Hsing Yun many times, and as a result of this satisfaction,)
I have translated 5 important books written by him into Bengali. In 2006, I, the fifth Sangharaj of the Indian Sangharaj Bhikkhu Mahasabha, was made an honorary member of BLIA. Most recently in 2023 with the blessing of Bhikkhuni Miao-Ru and with the help of Bhikkhuni Ru-Hong, BLIA. I am honoured to have achieved Life Membership of BLIA. I am very proud to receive this membership. Being a fellow traveler on the path shown by the great Acharya Master Hsing Yun, I hope to achieve human satisfaction in the purest sense. I was able to associate myself with some of the work that his organization has initiated, and monks and nuns have spread everywhere in various developmental and humanitarian activities. In Hyderabad in 2002, distribution of wheelchairs, distribution of educational materials to students, eye donation camps, free treatment etc. are a bunch of humanitarian work. In 2004, South Asia was affected by the tsunami. Needless to say, the great humanitarian work was done by BLIA to construct 100 houses for fishermen in Nellore, Chennai.
In 2006, the grand Saddhamma Diksha or Pancasheel Diksha held at the heart of Hyderabad by the great Acharya Master Hsing Yun was attended by lakhs of people.
It is not only unprecedented but also historical. At that time, I noticed Master Hsing Yun, a visionary with extraordinary charming power, and his calmness made me shiver.
However, it is a matter of regret that I am deeply saddened by the sudden passing of the great Acharya Master Hsing Yun. Although I could not attend his last farewell due to various reasons, I sent messages of condolence. Still, it seems that his sudden demise caused a huge loss for humanity. He could have remained on earth for some more days for the welfare of mankind. But all I can say is that we all have to move forward with renewed enthusiasm, taking the determination to spread his organization and his ideals across the globe. Because it is through this enthusiasm and efficiency that his incomplete work will be fulfilled, and his thought will be applied for the development of human beings. I hope that we will move forward in our quest to build global brotherhood, and will be united for the good of all.
মনে হয়, কেবলই মনে হয়
নব প্রভাতের ন্যায় তোমার উজ্জ্বল উপস্থিতি!
ক্লেদার্থ পৃথিবীর বুকে
যেখানে গভীর দীর্ঘশ্বাস!
সেখানে তোমার বরাভয়
অমৃত দান,
মঙ্গলময় হয়ে ওঠে
বিস্তীর্ণ চরাচর।
বর্তমানে যেখানে ধর্মীয় হিংসা বা যুদ্ধ উন্মাদনা যেভাবে সমগ্র পৃথিবী তথা মানব সমাজকে গ্রাস করতে সচেষ্ট হয়েছে সেখানে সমাজ সভ্যতার মঙ্গলার্থে আচার্য মাষ্টার শিঙ য়ুন এর উপস্থিতি, সেবাপ্রদান সত্য অর্থে বিশ্ব মানবতাবোধকে পুনঃ ব্যাপৃত করেছে। তাঁর ন্যায় মহানুভবতা এই সমাজ তথা পৃথিবীতে এক উজ্জ্বল দৃষ্টান্ত স্হাপন করেছে। ধর্মাচার্য তথা অনাগারিক শিঙ য়ুন মূল অর্থে এক উৎকৃষ্ট পুষ্পের ন্যায় তাঁর মহান কর্মের সুবাসকে পৃথিবীর চতুর্দিকে ছড়িয়ে দিয়েছেন। তিনি ভগবান বুদ্ধের প্রদর্শিত পথকে সকল জাতি -ধর্ম -বর্ণের অভ্যন্তরে প্রোথিত করার মহান ব্রতকে গ্রহণ করে হয়ে উঠেছেন বিশ্ব -সন্যাসী।
আচার্য মাষ্টার শিঙ য়ুন কখনোই সংকীর্ণ অর্থবোধকে গ্রহণ করেননি। তাঁর সংকল্প ছিল ভ্রাতৃত্ববোধ এবং মানবতাবাদ। তাঁর মানবতা কোন অর্থে কখনই একটি নির্দিষ্ট স্থানকাল কিম্বা পাত্রে জারিত হয়নি। কারণ তিনি উপলব্ধি করেছিলেন মানুষের অসহায়তা, সীমাবদ্ধতা এবং অভ্যন্তরীণ দ্বন্দ্বকে। তাঁর অভিপ্রায় ছিল মানব সমাজের মুক্তি। আর এই মুক্তি ভগবান বুদ্ধ প্রদর্শিত পথ ব্যতীত কখনই সম্ভব নয়। এক্ষেত্রে সংকীর্ণতার কোন স্থান নেই। কারণ বহুজনের হিতার্থে ও সুখার্থে নিবেদিত তথা উৎসর্গীকৃত ব্রত পালন দ্বারাই মানব মুক্তি সম্ভব এবং এই সংকল্পকে পাথেয় করেই তিনি প্রতিষ্ঠা করেছিলেন বি.এল.আই.এ নামক বিশ্বভ্রাতৃত্ববোধ প্রতিষ্ঠান তথা মানবতাবাদী সংগঠন।
মহান আচার্য মাষ্টার শিঙ য়ুন প্রতিষ্ঠিত (BLIA) সংগঠন আজ বোধিবৃক্ষের ন্যায় তাঁর শাখা প্রশাখা পৃথিবীর বিভিন্ন দেশে স্থাপিত হয়েছে। এঅর্থে উক্ত সংগঠন যথার্থ অর্থেই আন্তর্জাতিকতাবাদী। "কোন একজন ব্যক্তি তখনই তাঁর সংকীর্ণতাবোধকে বিসর্জন দিতে পারে যখনই তার অভ্যন্তরে সূর্যের অফুরন্ত তেজ উদ্ভাসিত হয়। আর এই তেজ কোন অর্থেই সংকীর্ণতাকে প্রশ্রয় দেয় না, কারণ জীবন তো ইচ্ছাশক্তি দাবি করে।" মহান আচার্য মাষ্টার শিঙ য়ুন অর্থেই ইচ্ছাশক্তি সম্পন্ন একজন বৌদ্ধ সন্যাসী। তাঁর উদারতা, মহানুভবতা বাস্তবিক অর্থে বৌদ্ধ ধর্ম পুনরুত্থানের পরিচয়কে গ্রহণ করে।
যাইহোক আমি বি এল আই এ'র সম্মেলনে আমন্ত্রণ লাভ এবং উপস্থিত হতে পেরে নিজেকে ধন্য মনে করছি। আচার্য মাস্টার শিঙ য়ুন সঙ্গে এর আমার সাক্ষাৎ তথা সান্নিধ্য লাভে পরিতৃপ্ত হয়েছি বারংবার, আর এই পরিতৃপ্ততার ফসল রূপে আমি তাঁর কর্তৃক প্রণীত ৫টি গুরুত্বপূর্ণ গ্রন্থ বঙ্গানুবাদও করেছি। ইতিপূর্বে ২০০৬ সাল থেকে আমি, ভারতীয় সংঘরাজ ভিক্ষু মহাসভার পঞ্চম সংঘরাজ ড. কে সংরক্ষিত মহাথেরোর বদান্যতায় হায়দ্রাবাদ চ্যাপ্টার বি.এল. আই এ'র সম্মানিত সদস্য পদ লাভ করেছিলাম। অতিসম্প্রতি ২০২৩ ভিক্ষুণী মিয়াওরু'র বদান্যতায় এবং ভিক্ষুণী রুহঙ'র সহযোগিতায় আমি বি.এল. আই এ'র আজীবন সদস্যপদ লাভ করে নিজেকে গৌরবান্বিত মনে করছি। এই সদস্যপদ প্রাপ্তির বিষয়টি আমার নিকট অত্যন্ত গর্বের বিষয়। কারণ মহান আচার্য মাষ্টার শিঙ য়ুন প্রদর্শিত পথের সহযাত্রী হওয়া একান্ত অর্থে মানবিক পরিতৃপ্তি লাভ। তাঁর প্রতিষ্ঠিত সংগঠন এবং ভিক্ষু ও ভিক্ষুণীগণ বিভিন্ন উন্নয়ন মূলক ও মানবিক কর্মযজ্ঞে সর্বত্র ছড়িয়ে দিয়েছেন সেই কিছু কাজের সঙ্গে আমি নিজেকে সম্পৃক্ত করতে পেরেছিলাম ড. কে সংরক্ষিত মহাথেরো ও হায়দ্রাবাদ চ্যাপ্টার বি.এল. আই এ'র যৌথ পরিচালনায়। যেমন- ২০০২ সালে হায়াদ্রাবাদে দুঃস্হদের, হুইল চেয়ার বিতরণ, শিক্ষার্থীদের মাঝে শিক্ষা সামগ্রী বিতরণ, চক্ষুদান শিবির, ফ্রী ট্রিটমেন্ট ইত্যাদি একগুচ্ছ মানবতাবাদী কাজ। ২০০৪ সালে দক্ষিণ এশিয়া সুনামির কবলিত হলে ড. কে সংরক্ষিত মহাথেরো ও হায়দ্রাবাদ চ্যাপ্টার বি.এল. আই এ'র যৌথ উদ্যোগে চেন্নাইয়ের নেলুরে ১০০ মৎস্যজীবীদের ঘর নির্মাণ করে দেওয়ার মতো যে মহান মানবতাবাদী কাজ করেছিলেন তা বলার অপেক্ষা রাখেনা।
২০০৬ সালে মহান আচার্য মাষ্টার শিঙ য়ুন হায়দ্রাবাদ শহরের প্রাণকেন্দ্রে যে বিশাল সদ্ধম্ম দীক্ষা তথা পঞ্চশীল দীক্ষা অনুষ্ঠান আয়োজিত হয়েছিল এবং সেই অনুষ্ঠানে লক্ষাধিক জনসমাগম হয়ে তা এককথায় অভূতপূর্ব নয় ঐতিহাসিকও বটে। সেই সময় মাষ্টার শিঙ য়ুনের মধ্যে আমি লক্ষ্য করেছি অসামান্য মোহনীয় শক্তির অধিকারী এক জ্যোতির্ময় যুগপুরুষ তাঁর শান্ত দান্ত দৃঢ়তা আমাকেই শিহরণ জাগিয়েছিল।
তবে পরিতাপের বিষয় এটাই যে মহান আচার্য মাষ্টার শিঙ য়ুন এর আকষ্মিক প্রয়াণে আমি অত্যন্ত ব্যতীত ও মর্মাহত হয়েছি। যদিও সেই সময় তাঁর অন্তিম বিদায়ে আমি নানা কারণে উপস্থিত হতে পারিনি, তবুও যথাসম্ভব তাঁর প্রতি শোক জানিয়ে বার্তা প্রেরণ করেছি। কিন্তু তবুও মনে হয়েছে তাঁর আকষ্মিক প্রয়াণ কোন অবস্হাতেই প্রাসঙ্গিক ছিল না, তিনি মানব কল্যাণে আরও কিছু দিন পৃথিবীতে বিরাজ করতে পারতেন। তবে এতটুকু বলতে পারি যে তাঁর প্রতিষ্ঠিত সংগঠন এবং তাঁর আদর্শেকে পৃথিবীর বুকে ছড়িয়ে দেওয়ার সংকল্প গ্রহণ করে আমাদের সকলকে নতুন উদ্যমে এগিয়ে যেতে হবে। কারণ এই উদ্যম এবং কর্ম দক্ষতার মাধ্যমেই তাঁর অসম্পূর্ণ কাজ ও চিন্তা চেতনার পরিপূর্ণতা আসবে। আমি আশা করব যে আমরা সকলের মঙ্গলার্থে একত্রিত হয়ে বিশ্ব ভ্রতৃত্ববোধ গড়ে তোলার প্রশ্নে এগিয়ে যাব।
